Cody just told us everything she knows about reading "horsescoops", which was, clearly, not too much. But awfully adorable.
I can't help but see the irony in "Wind Erosion Lab leveled" after the tornado
Bits of town destroyed, mostly in the south west corner; will assess damage in the morning. All clear here, so g'night.
Tornado damage painting an arrow right at our division. We're safe, eerily safe, but the warnings are fading, and so are our anxieties.
Literally "bunkered" now. In a corner of the basement with blankets, pillows and our futon mattress over us. Peeing our pants.
Spent the day at Oceans of Fun with the fam. G'damn, it's fun being 8 again. BTW, for future reference: sunblock actually works.
Made it home fine. Manhattan proper is entirely flooded, mostly unpassable (in a Sunfire), but our neighborhood looks unscathed, mostly.
As expected, she's having trouble getting here. Only 5 or 6 blocks away, but stuck because of flooding. Should have driven the Jeep.
Perhaps most worrisome at the moment is flash flooding, as I can see very few spots that look drivable. Thinking of having Jessa turn back.
There's a small lull in the storm cells, so Jessa's coming to get me (6:35), despite the warnings. Waiting.
Tornado warnings, thunderstorm warnings, etc, and I'm still at work, separated from Jessa & Cody.
Me, just now, eating tortilla chips and cheese dip: "I almost couldn't open my mouth big enough for that one... that's what she said."
Getting my first sun of the year at the pool with the fam. Hoping my pasty ass doesn't burn.
